Hot Stove Weekly, Monday nights from 8-10 all the way to opening day!

On this week's show: Monday Night, March 17th, 2008

Doug Melvin:

The Brewers GM joined us for the show and talked about the potential roster cuts heading toward the end of spring training. He did say that Kapler, Gross, and Gwyn, Jr. have all made the team. Melvin also talked about Joe Dillon and where he best fits in and the number of catchers that may be kept.

Ned Yost:

The Brewers Manager joined us and talked about a lot of different things that included the increased pressure of being manager last year in a playoff chase. Yost also talked about his belief of sticking up for his players and making sure that they know he has their back. Ned talked about the stat used when judging catchers defense that he believes is overrated.

Corey Hart:

Corey joined us for the second time in 2008 after we caught up with him in Phoenix a couple of weeks ago when we were out there. He talked about moving around in the minors and the experience of going through it and being rewarded by having a regular job in the Majors. Hart also discussed the future and whether he'd prefer to play center or right field for the rest of his career.

Craig Counsell:

Counsell discussed this team's talent level and whether or not this team can really consider the World Series a realistic goal. He also talked about Billy Hall and his progress being moved back to third base after having spent last season in center field.

Manny Parra:

The Brewers top prospect joined us and talked about what his focus is this spring and what he hopes to accomplish. Parra also elaborated on not wanting to be a bitter person if for some reason he gets sent down to Nashville. Manny also told the story of that great night in Triple A when he pitched a perfect game. To hear him tell the story could give a person chills.
